Origin of the name "Puliyamparamba"

I had contacted many old and young people to know the origin of the name of my birth place "puliyamparamba". I had got the history of this land but nobody given me any clue about the origin of the name. After an analysis of the history of this land and the surrounding villages I suppose that the name originated from "Pulayan Paramb", that this land may be owned by "Pulayans" (also PulayarPulaya, or Pulayas or Holeya or Cheramar, are one of the main social groups found in Kerala), later they may be converted to Islam or left their land during Tipu invasion. The word "Paramb" means land in malayalam.

Villagers used to call the "Pulayan paramb" (Pulayar land) as "Pulen paramb" and later it changed to pulayamparamba then puliyamparamba.

The neighboring village names "Karuvankallu" originated from "Karente kallu"  later "karen kallu" ( kallu means stone and karen is the caste name in local languge for black smith), this stone was used to sharpen the knifes.

Another neighboring village name "Kummini paramb" shows that this name was given to the land of Kummini ( a lady name, may be a pulayar lady name or may be a name of a Goddess). Kummini paramba means "the land of Kummini".
